So I got to meet some new bloggie friends over at a food event of sorts. The girls who run Sac Foodies had their new office's house warming party recently which I have to admit was quite a blast. I got to meet the food hungry girl squad behind the blog and get to know them all a bit. We chatted over some fine wines that their food P.R. company represented, and nibbled on some deliciously tasty tid-bits catered by Mulvaney's (props to Patrick and his shibby food once again).
I admit at first I was wary of a company run blog with many writers, but no more. They write on topics that interest them, and it's not "corporate" at all. In fact, the pictures are well done and the posts are thoughtful and funny, each as unique as the authors themselves.
We all then sat in on a little wine and food pairing lesson; a total plus for me as while I freely admit that I know a lot about the chemical and technical processes about wine and the wine industry, I don't know anything about pairing, flavors, etc. It's my foodie weak point. Luckily, I had a few friends there to help guide me along the way.
All and all, it was a good time with good people. :)

ReplyDeleteoh my gosh...what are those photos of? Mulaney's is the bestest! I wish I was rich, so I could eat there more often.
ReplyDeleteYou were a gracious guest, and we all loved meeting you!

The cucumber shrimp looks great. I'm going to have to look for a recipe.
ReplyDeleteIts always fun to meet other food bloggers!
ReplyDeleteSoooo why haven't they hired you yet!?!?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time. From reading yours and others blogs, it seems like the foodies in your area have a real community thing going. I've yet to meet a fellow foodblogger in person, though goodness knows I'd love to!
